Learning Log / February 23

What we did:

We had a double block of Humanities today. In the first block, we reviewed our There Will Be Wolves chapter 1-5 questions with Ms.Lees. We went over each question one by one so we would understand the questions clearly for the quiz we would be having. In second block, we got our quiz right away and it took about us about 5-10 minutes to finish it. Once we finished, we traded our quiz with somebody at our group and we marked them. Finally, once we had that done, we got the rest of our second block to work on our bibliography from books in our class. Some people also worked on There Will Be Wolves chapter 10 questions.

Learning Intention:

The learning intention for block one was to understand the questions and answers better which is why we reviewed them. It also helps us work on our listening skills since Ms.Lees only went over the questions once so you would have to listen in order to understand the questions/answers for the quiz. We also worked on our communicating skills since most of us don't like speaking in front of the class, we had no choice today because Ms.Lees was calling people to read their answer out loud. This helps us all take turns speaking out loud since some people are shy, it can help them feel more confident if they see everybody else answering the questions too.

The learning intention for block two was to help us keep focused on our work since the bibliography is due tomorrow, we tried getting as much work on it done today as we could. It also helps us work more independently since we weren't allowed to talk.

Reflections/Connections:

My reflections of today was that it was pretty easy compared to other days. Our first block was just a review so we just had to sit and listen to the answers. For me, the quiz was really easy. Finishing my bibliography was also easy.

The connections for today is that it could help us focus more in other classes and learn to work alone without talking to our friends. Learning to write bibliographies will also really help us for when we get into older grades such as grade 11 and 12 when it's going to be a common thing to do.
