WHAT WE DID
Today we reviewed the criteria for our 30 challenge and
making connections. We came up with ( quoting what Ms. Lees wrote)
“Why are we setting a 30 day challenge for ourselves? What connections can we make to past learning
and in anticipation of future projects?
the 30 day challenge is connected to the IDEO shopping cart
video because in sharing our challenges we build a support network. Ideally, we will help each other to achieve
the goals.
the challenge has a specific time limit - this helps us to
not give up on our challenge.
projects will also have a time
limit
deadlines (time limits) are
necessary to focus our efforts otherwise they can be "lost"
this gives us specific and individual practice in setting
goals
we need to plan for success
for example, some
Learning Blog groups did not meet their January goals and suggested it was
because they were not specific and they did not set a plan to do so
outlining and grouping these connections (above) is similar
to what we had to do in our web process (connections and examples)
we also use this skill in other
areas like writing outlines
How will we know we have reached our goals? Part of this will be on the honour system.”
Then we had some time to work on our chapter five questions.
WHY WE DID IT
We reviewed the criteria for our 30-day challenge post
because quite a few of us did not do it completely. We started all of this
because of our group project. The IDEO video was about teamwork.
REFLECTIONS/CONNECTIONS
Today, for me the day was quite easy. I got some help with
my chapter five questions on how to improve it because I finished it on Friday because
I thought it was due on Monday. We only went over the criteria and worked on
our chapter five question, so the day was pretty easy.
HOMEWORK
No Homework that I know of.
TIP
Can someone help me with extending my why we did it and reflections? tell me how I can make everything better
ReplyDeleteOkay Samuel I'll help you. First of all you can extend your Why We Did It by being more specific about the 30 day challenge. What is it? What is the purpose of the thirty day challenge? For connections you also have to write about how learning this can help us outside of class. We also did more than just talking about the thirty day challenge. We also did chapter 5 questions 1 and 2 together. Why does Ms Lees tell us to do better answers? Think about the questions I said and also think about the purposes of the activities we do.Your What We Did was pretty good. It was much better than last time.
ReplyDeleteWith some more effort I think you can do a good job next time. Also whenever you need help you can just look at some other blog posts in our class. By looking at them you can see how your peers wrote their posts. If you don't know who is a good example for good posts just ask me and I'll tell you. You are improving so good job!
Oh! Also what is wrong with the spacing? Do you know?
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that for your' what we did today,' you mentioned all the things that we talked about in class. This blog post had more detail and also you gave examples and extended on your ideas. This is so far the best post that you have done.
ReplyDeleteThe homework is to correct you 30 day challenge post (look at Ms Lees blog for criteria) and also questions for chapter 5 I think are also due.
The spacings got messed up when I moved it from word to blogger
